Annihilation Monument of the Litzmannstadt Ghetto is a powerful reminder of the horrors of the Holocaust. Three original cattle wagons used for deportations stand silently next to the now-defunct station, and original deportation lists (some headed with ‘Zur Arbeit’ – ‘to work’) line a long concrete tunnel nearby. When the Red Army liberated Łódź in 1945, only 880 Jewish survivors remained.
