This branch of the regional museum is in the Town Hall and has a fine collection of historic paintings, armour, furniture, glass and porcelain, and items relating to the life of Józef Bem (1791–1850), a Polish general born in Tarnów who took part in the Hungarian War of Independence in 1848–49 and is revered as a hero there.
