Museum of Cemetery Art
This museum incorporates the Old Jewish Cemetery, founded in 1856, which is located about 1.5km south of the train and bus stations. Take tram 9 or 15.

Brama Straceń
Overlooking the river by the citadel, this huge gate is the spot where political prisoners were executed all too frequently after the citys 1863 uprising.

Opposite the spa park and back from the main street, this small museum with interesting displays of historic toys is a good place to while away a wet afternoon.

Skyscraper
This blocky, 14-storey, 60m-tall structure was Poland’s tallest building from 1934 until 1955. It’s considered the best example of functionalism in Poland.

Cross the new space-age swing bridge across the Słupia River to take a tour of Ustkas extensive network of WWII bunkers, today inhabited by waxwork Nazis.

Regional Museum (Ethnographic Exhibition)
Section of Augustóws regional museum, several blocks from the Rynek, featuring a small ethnographic exhibition. Youll find it on the upper floor of the public library.

The modest Przemyśl Fortress Museum , with photographs, postcards, weapons and commemorative mementos connected with the fortress, will satisfy the curiosities of most.

New Synagogue Memorial
This memorial marks the site of the New Synagogue, built in 1872. It was the countrys second-largest synagogue, until it was torched on Kristallnacht (9 November 1938).

Izba Kaszubska
An old 19th-century fishermans cottage on the main street houses a small exhibition of Kashubian handicrafts and a souvenir stall. The staff also give out town maps.

Arsenal City Art Gallery
The site of a former arsenal now houses this art gallery, which partly atones for its ugly architecture by hosting interesting temporary exhibitions of modern art.

Teatr Ludowy
It’s worth a visit to the Teatr Ludowy just to admire the proletarian architecture. Built in 1955, the theatre was known for its experimental, avant-garde productions.

Manufaktura
Close by the Historical Museum is this fascinating shopping mall and entertainment centre constructed within a massive complex of historic red-brick factory buildings.

Hyacinthus’ Tower
The tall octagonal tower rising in front of the market hall is a remnant of the medieval fortifications and dates from around 1400. Today it houses a photo shop.

Weigh House
Behind the town hall is the Weigh House, a postwar replica of the 16th-century building designed by Giovanni Battista Quadro that was dismantled in the 19th century.

Bison Enclosure
Several bison live relatively freely in a large, fenced-off bison enclosure, west of the park, 500m beyond the forestry techniques exhibition (follow the Żubry signs).

Hipolit House
Next to St Mary’s Basilica, this branch of the Kraków City History Museum contains faithful recreations of townhouse interiors from the 17th to early 19th centuries.

Teutonic Knights Castle Ruins
East of the remnants of the Old Town walls are the ruins of the Teutonic Castle, destroyed in 1454 by angry townsfolk protesting against the knights oppressive regime.

Town Museum
Located inside the same building as the tourist office, the Town Museum features an interactive, multimedia exhibition on the pope’s life and Wadowice at the time of his childhood.

Główny Rynek
Start your sightseeing with the Town Hall tower in the low-key but attractive Main Market Square. There are fine views from the top and an exhibition of the history of Kalisz.

This former home of the Stanisław Wyspiański museum is now used to house rotating exhibitions of art and culture. Check the website to see whats showing here during your visit.
