Part of the old city walls, a 700m-long bridge was built here between 1497 and 1500 and survived for over three centuries.

Just south of Plac Bohaterów Getta are the remains of the wartime Jewish ghetto wall from WWII, with a plaque marking the site.

This grand neoclassical structure, designed by Antonio Corazzi in the 1820s, lends Plac Bankowy some architectural heft.
