On Snagov Lake's western shore you’ll see an impressive-looking villa, Snagov Palace. It was built by Prince Nicolae, brother of King Carol II, in neo-Renaissance style in the 1930s. During the Ceauşescu era, the palace was used for meetings of high-level government officials. Today, the building serves as a retreat for state guests.
