In the village of Dolenje Jezero you will find the Lake House Museum, with a 5m by 3m, 1:2500-scale working model of Lake Cerknica. It shows how the underground hydrological system actually works in a 1¼-hour demonstration and video about the lake in the four seasons. There’s also ethnological exhibits about local fishing and boat building.
The demonstration is open to the public once daily; it occurs Monday to Saturday July to August (start time varies), and up to a few times a week in other months. It's best to check the website or call/email for times. Note that you can also arrange a private demonstration.
