Lording over the heart of the town is the baroque façade of the Església de Sant Miquel which got its present makeover in 1762. Above the Renaissance portal stands a relief of St Michael, sticking it to a discomfited-looking devil underfoot. Across the road and directly in front of the church, a flight of stone steps leads down to the Font, once the main town well. Carrer Major runs below the flank of the church, which in 1844 collapsed onto a passing Easter procession and left 400 dead. Behind the church is the town market; the best time to browse is Sunday morning.
