Reached by a spectacular serpentine road, the virtually untouched sandy bay of Benirràs has high, forested cliffs and a trio of bar-restaurants. It's a spectacular location for sunset, one Ibiza's boho tribe have favoured for decades. If you visit on a Sunday there's always an assembly of drummers banging out a salutation to the sun.
The curiously shaped offshore island at the mouth of the bay is Cap Bernat – it's said to resemble a praying nun, the Carthaginian goddess Tanit, or even the Sphinx.
