During la movida madrileña in the 1980s, Galería Moriarty (then in Calle del Almirante) was one of Madrid’s most important meeting places of culture and counterculture, drawing the iconic Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, film-maker Pedro Almodóvar and photographer García-Alix, among others, to attend its exhibitions and parties. It has moved a number of times since, but it remains one of the most important small galleries in Madrid, with all manner of interesting contemporary exhibitions.
