North of Plaza de las Flores, the Aljibes de Jayrán were built in the early 11th century to supply the city’s water. This underground historic well system is well preserved, and is the venue for regular exhibitions and for the Peña El Taranto , the city’s top (but sadly private) club of flamenco aficionados . There are occasional concerts open to the public.
