The Old Town unfolds around the 12th-century Catedral de San Martiño, whose artistic highlight is the gilded Santo Cristo chapel, inside the northern entrance. At the west end of the dark interior is the Pórtico do Paraíso, a less inspired Gothic copy of Santiago de Compostela's Pórtico de la Gloria.
