This magnificent Modernista building, now colonised by boutiques and cafes, was formerly a market, built in 1916 to serve the rising bourgeoisie of the new suburb of L’Eixample. It's a good place to try horchata (a sugary drink made from tiger nuts) and Sundays are nice, with free midday concerts.
