Atop Cap Roig, 2.5km from the centre, the Jardí Botànic is a beautiful garden of 500 Mediterranean species, set around the early-20th-century castle-palace of Nikolai Voevodsky. He was a tsarist colonel with expensive tastes, who fell out of grace in his homeland after the Russian revolution.
