Just beyond Playa del Puntal across the bay from from Santander, Playa de Somo is another sandy beach with, usually, pretty good surf. A year-round ferry (one way/return €2.60/4.65, every 30 or 60 minutes from 9.30am to 7.30pm) runs to Somo from the Estación Marítima Los Reginas .
