Getxo's principal summer attraction is the Playa de Ereaga, the long sandy beach that runs between the Galerías de Punta Begoña and Puerto Viejo. A better beach, Playa de Arrigunaga, lies to the north of the town centre, sandwiched between Punta Galea and a bushy hill.
