These remarkably well-preserved 4000-year-old rock paintings (hällmålningar ), depicting reindeer and other animals, are located near the hamlet of Messlingen, on the high, desolate Flatruet plateau between Funäsdalen and Ljungdalen. Turn right in Mittådalen for Messlingen, walk east along a Ruvallen-bound track and take the signposted 6km footpath. Bus 621 connects Funäsdalen and Messlingen (Skr67, 35 minutes, three daily).
