The southern entry to Kungsleden (Sweden’s finest hiking route) is in Hemavan. To reach it, head up the hill toward the ugly golden dome in Fjällparken; the ground floor of the building houses Naturum, where there’s an exhibit on the local flora and fauna (including a section that explains what kind of droppings you’ll step on along the trail). Staff can arrange tours and provide information about trekking in the area.
