The narrow, serpentine 100km road that connects Ljungdalen and Åsarna runs through some of the remotest mountain landscape in Sweden, but its appeal lies not only in its glorious isolation but also in the pristine wilderness all around you (with the exception of tiny logging villages en route). It's a beautiful drive, but you can also take daily bus 613 (Skr204, 1¾ hours) between the two towns.
