The octagonal red wooden church is a 1976, post-fire replacement built in the style of its 1753 predecessor. The colour scheme is inspired by Sami clothing and the design reflects the Sami building style; in winter, the space between the timbers used to hold coffins awaiting the spring thaw, which allowed for graves to be dug.
