Musée Olympique is easily Lausanne’s most lavish museum and an essential stop for sports buffs (and kids). Following a thorough revamp of its facilities, the museum reopened in 2014, with its tiered landscaped gardens and site-specific sculptural works as inviting as ever. Inside, there is a fabulous cafe with a champion lake view from its terrace, and a state-of-the-art museum recounting the Olympic story from its inception to the present day through video, interactive displays, memorabilia and temporary themed exhibitions.
