The Bernina Line was added to the Unesco World Heritage list in 2008 along with the Albula Pass. Constructed in 1910, it is one of the world's steepest narrow-gauge railways, negotiating the highest rail crossing in Europe and taking in spectacular glaciers, gorges and rock pinnacles.
