Set in an expansive walled courtyard, this mosque was constructed for Süleyman Pervane in 1267. It has been repaired many times; the local Candaroğlu emir added the marble mihrab (niche indicating the direction of Mecca) and wooden mimber (pulpit), sadly damaged when one of the three domes collapsed. The austere interior and spacious courtyard are oases from Sinop's buzz.
