At İztuzu Beach's southern end is the headquarters of this turtle rescue centre, established in 2009 largely through the influence of June Haimoff (Kaptan June) whose reconstructed baraka (beach hut) now serves as a small museum to her life and work.
The centre, which can be visited by guided tour, has saved dozens of loggerhead and green turtles, and you'll see turtles injured by fishing hooks and nets as well as by boat propellers being treated. Highly recommended.
