The biggest afternoon out for Ankara families is the Gençlik Parki, in the heart of the city. It's a classic Middle Eastern–style park with several pleasant çay bahçesi (tea gardens; single women should go for those with the word aile (family) in their name), lots of water fountains lit in garish colours, and a few plastic dinosours (obviously). The Luna Park funfair provides amusement for children and, thanks to a few terrifying-looking rides, cheap thrills for teenagers.
