This rotunda-shaped church topped by a conical roof dates from about 994. It was built for the wealthy Pahlavuni family by the same architect as the Church of the Redeemer. On the 12-sided exterior, a series of deep niches are topped by scallop-shell carvings; above them, the windows of the drum are framed by a double set of blind arcades. From here you can savour the view of a rock-cut village beyond the river escarpment.
