Whether it's winter or summer, it's worth taking a cable-car ride up the Great Mountain (2543m) to take advantage of the views and the cool, clear air of Uludağ National Park . As well as one of Turkey's most popular ski resorts (the season runs from December to early April), the park offers pine forests and the occasional snowy peak. Hiking to the summit of Uludağ takes three hours.
