Dominating a small square to the east of pl Rynok is one of Lviv’s signature sights, the large rococo dome of the Dominican Cathedral. Attached to the cathedral and to the left of the entrance is the Museum of Religious History , which was an atheist museum in Soviet times. The exhibition looks at all religions currently active in Ukraine and includes an Ostroh Bible, one of the first complete translations into Old Church Slavonic printed in 1580.
East of the cathedral is a square where you'll see a statue of a monk holding a book. This is Federov, who brought printing to Ukraine in the 16th century. Fittingly, there's a second-hand book market here on weekends.
