Soviet aviation might have been a target of ridicule lately, yet it was a mighty industry that outcompeted the Germans in WWII and raced neck-to-neck with the Americans during the Cold War. Located at the far side of Zhulyany airfield, this open-air museum displays dozens of aircraft designed to carry people or tanks, land on ice or water and indeed to bomb the hell out of Western Europe. The museum is about a 1.5km walk along vul Medova from the roundabout in front of Zhulyanya airport's new terminal, or take a taxi.
