Housed partly in the Tabernacle, a neoclassical former Methodist chapel (1880), the Museum of Modern Art exhibits work by contemporary Welsh artists as well as an annual international competition (mid-July to late August). The small permanent collection is supplemented by a continuous roster of temporary exhibitions. The chapel itself has the feel of a courtroom but the acoustics are good – it's used for concerts, theatre and talks.
