Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw is an excellent art gallery, but its lively collection of work by contemporary Welsh artists, such as Stephen John Owen, is only part of the attraction. The gallery is worth visiting just to wonder at the flamboyant Victorian Gothic mansion it’s housed in, with its heavy exposed beams and stained glass. The bustling conservatory serves paninis, wraps and cakes and paths run through the wooded grounds to the National Trust–owned Llanbedrog beach.
It’s 3 miles from Abersoch and 4 miles west of Pwllheli.
