It's hard to believe that this was once a busy cargo, shipbuilding and herring port, the only safe haven on the peninsula's north coast. Today, it's owned in its entirety by the NT, which maintains a small information kiosk in its car park .
At the western end of the beach are an isolated cluster of buildings, which include the legendary Tŷ Coch Inn . It was famous for its views and toes-in-the-water pints even before Demi Moore shot key scenes from the 2006 movie Half Light here.
