The Mulla Afandi Mosque is the only religious structure that remains in the citadel and was named after the Erbil-born Kurdish cleric and philosopher, Mulla Abu Bakr Effendi. The hammam next door was built in 1775. Both buildings are often closed, but if you are lucky you might bump into the custodian.
