Incorporating the reconstructed interior and original fittings of an early-18th-century synagogue from Conegliano Veneto near Venice, this museum collects, preserves and displays objects associated with Jewish life in Italy from the Renaissance period through to the present time. The synagogue was transported across the Mediterranean and rebuilt in the 1950s; it now serves the needs of Jerusalemites who follow the ancient liturgy and rites of Roman Jews. The collection includes textiles, metalwork, illuminated parchments, Torah arks and other Judaica.
