Though it doesn't look particularly impressive from the outside, this is one of the few Crusader buildings in Israel to have survived almost completely intact. Erected in the 12th century as a Christian church, it was converted into a mosque in the 13th century and the minaret and mihrab (prayer niche facing Mecca) were added at this time. Visits are by appointment only.
