This medieval chapel is the home of the small Syrian Orthodox congregation in Jerusalem, who believe that it occupies the site of the home of St Mark’s mother, Mary. Peter is said to have come here after he was released from prison by an angel (Acts 12:12). Inside, look for the painting on leather of the Virgin and Child, which is attributed to St Luke.
