The Old Northeast, or Coffee Pot Bayou, begins around 9th Ave NE and goes to 30th Ave NE; it extends inland from the bay to about 4th St. At about 10th Ave NE the North Shore Aquatic Complex has three gorgeous swimming pools, including a kids' pool with waterslide. Adjacent grassy public parks include the Gizella Kopsick Palm Arboretum , essentially an open 2-acre garden of more than 500 palms, all signed and lovingly landscaped. There are also large parking lots here and a long, white-sand swimming beach . Keep going along the paved trail, past pretty homes and private docks, all the way to small Coffee Pot Park , where manatees can occasionally be spotted.
