Red Rock Crossing/Crescent Moon Ranch

Splash in Oak Creek, swim in its deep swimming holes and relax on the wide, flat, red slabs that dot the water. Famous for its splendid views of Cathedral Rock, blazoned on postcards all over town, this picnic area is a lovely place to while away an afternoon. Provides access to Templeton, Baldwin and Cathedral Rock hiking trails.

Red Rock Crossing is 7 miles southwest of town, on the same road as Red Rock State Park. To get here, head west on US 89A to FR 216 (Upper Red Rock Loop Rd), turn south, drive 1.5 miles and follow the signs. If the parking lot is full, turn around and park at the pull-out where Red Rock Crossing Rd intersects Chavez Ranch Rd.
