This lovely crescent of white sand is a local favorite but remains somewhat off the tourist radar. Both family-friendly and gay-friendly, its calm, protected waters are ideal for morning snorkeling. Around the boundary, shady trees provide welcome relief. Restrooms and showers are available; no lifeguards.
From Puako Beach Dr, take the first right turn onto Old Puako Rd. Find telephone pole No 71 (originally numbered No 69) to the left and park. Follow the 'road' to its end, and then tramp along the footpath that runs parallel to a wooden fence.
