In 1978 Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield took over an abandoned Burlington gas station and launched the outlandish flavors that forever changed America's ice cream culture. Time and corporate takeovers have forever changed the company, but this legendary factory, north of I-89 between Waterbury and Stowe, still draws crowds for tours that include a campy moo-vie and a taste tease of the latest flavor. Behind the factory, a mock cemetery holds 'graves' of Holy Cannoli and other long-forgotten flavors. The factory is 10 miles south of Stowe via VT 100.
