The secret is out: the Lemur Center is the coolest attraction in Durham. Located about two miles from the main campus, this research and conservation center is home to the largest collection of endangered prosimian primates outside their native Madagascar. Only a robot could fail to melt at the sight of these big-eyed fuzzy-wuzzies. Visits are by guided tour only. To guarantee a tour spot, make your reservation well ahead of your visit.
Call at least three weeks in advance for weekdays, and one to two months ahead for weekends.
