Part of the World Birding Center, this 50-acre nature preserve has boardwalks through the dunes, bird blinds, spotting towers and much more. Learn the differences between a dune meadow, a salt marsh and an intertidal flat – and there won't even be a quiz after. The exhibit hall is in a posh, new building.
You can also access some of the site for free from a boardwalk at the SPI Convention Center just to the north. Look for egrets, alligators, turtles, crabs and much more.
