Off Mesa Rd west of downtown and formerly known as the Point Reyes Bird Observatory, its Palomarin Field Station has bird-banding and netting demonstrations, a visitors center and nature trail. Banding demonstrations are held in the morning every Tuesday to Sunday from May to late November, and on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday the rest of the year.
