This self-guided museum has a healthy dose of brain food for a fast and furious little town like Daytona. There's a delightful mishmash of everything from Cuban art to Coca-Cola memorabilia, train cars to teddy bears and even the 13ft skeleton of a giant sloth. At the time of writing, work was almost complete on a brand new planetarium: the original had delighted locals for over 30 years.
Twenty minutes south of Daytona, Gamble Place , the winter estate of the Gamble family (of Procter & Gamble fortune) lies in a sun-dappled glade. The restored cracker-style house and several whimsically named cottages (including a replica Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs house) are managed by MOAS and open on select dates: check the website for details.
