One of the North Shore’s almost-too-beautiful beaches, named for the underwater caverns in and among the near-shore reef, this is among the best snorkel spots on the island. It's also the North Shore’s most popular dive site. Although the area is more suitable for the summer months, as the reef is adjacent to the beach, winter snorkelling may be possible. Always use caution and check with locals or lifeguards heading into the water. Beware of a regular current flowing west toward the open ocean.
If you can't score a parking spot at one of the two unmarked lots down short dirt roads, park at Haʻena State Park and walk.
