The doc welds old pipes, carburetors and other salvaged metal into a hallucinatory world of futuristic birds, dragons and other bizarre structures. The crowning glory is the giant, egg-domed Forevertron, once cited by Guinness World Records as the globe's largest scrap-metal sculpture. Finding the park entrance is tricky. Look for the old Badger Army Ammunition Plant, and then a small sign leading you into a driveway across the street. Call to confirm it's open.
The doc is in poor health now and isn't around much, but his wife Lady Eleanor usually is. The park is 30 miles northwest of Madison on US 12.
