A government building has stood on this site since 1598 and served as a residence, courthouse, administrative headquarters and post office. Today, it is maintained by the University of Florida as a public museum and exhibition space. Until October 2015, it houses the fascinating First Colony Exhibit (adult/child $8/6), exploring the Spanish origins of present-day USA, beginning in St Augustine in 1565.
Discounted combination tickets including admission to the First Colony Exhibit as well as Colonial Quarter and the Pirate & Treasure Museum are available (adult/child $28/16).
