Getting inside the White House can be tough, so here is your backup plan. Browse artifacts like Roosevelt's desk for his fireside chats and Lincoln's cabinet chair. Multimedia exhibits give a 360-degree view into the White House's rooms. It’s obviously not the same as seeing the real deal first-hand, but the center does do its job very well, giving good history sprinkled with great anecdotes on presidential spouses, kids, pets and dinner preferences.
The center reopened in late 2014 after a $12.6 million renovation, and it's all spiffed up.
