The rainbow-robed Glide gospel choir enters singing their hearts out, and the 2000-plus congregation stomps and dances along. Raucous Sunday Glide celebrations capture San Francisco at its most diverse and welcoming, embracing all ethnicities, abilities and income brackets, the entire GLBT spectrum and many who'd lost all faith in faith. After the celebration ends, the congregation keeps the inspiration coming, serving a million free meals a year and providing housing for 52 formerly homeless families – and yes, Glide welcomes volunteers.
