Even parents who object to zoos on principle sometimes cave in to kids' demands for SF Zoo excursions – and end up enjoying well-kept habitats, including the Lemur Forest and the Savannah (featuring giraffes, zebras and ostrich). Star attractions include Bear Country, the Gorilla Preserve, barnyard-style petting zoo, Dentzel carousel (per ride $3) and miniature steam train (per ride $5). Interactive storybook features are activated with a Zoo Key ($3) and rental strollers and wheelchairs are available ($10 to $12 and $15, respectively).
