Screw welcome mats; this place has an aroused Legba statue giving the nod (as it were) to tourists looking for an introduction to the voodoo religion. Within are the Temple of Pythons, an active place of worship; the requisite gift shop selling voodoo art and artifacts; a hookah parlor; and a bar that serves voodoo martinis. Presiding over Saturday-night ceremonies is Dr Sharon Caulder, a scholar, author and voodoo chief who conducts healing rites for members of the audience. Visitors are welcome.
